Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed their interest in Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni.

Toni is keen to return to Italy after a successful six-month loan with Roma.

Preziosi said: "Toni corresponds with the identikit of the striker we need. The cost of his transfer is a relative problem.

"The real problem is his contract. In the case that Toni were to arrive, we would not sign Julio Baptista. Let's say that we have a 40-50 per cent chance of signing him."
