Gigi de Canio insists he's the right man for the Genoa job.
De Canio managed to guide Genoa to safety last week.
He declared: "When I arrived there was a point between Genoa and Lecce and now there are six. I'm happy, but I would like a little more respect.
"For 15 years I have trained in Serie A and B and never missed a season, yet often I am at the stake. This is while the benches are constantly changing and if one does alright for part of a season then come the headlines in the papers.
"The situation was desperate, I agreed because of the relationship I have with Preziosi.
"But, despite the defeats at Bologna and Milan, I always saw a reaction in the team, a desire to rebuild."
