Genoa buy Alexander Blessin out of Oostende contract

Genoa are hiring KV Oostende coach Alexander Blessin.

Genoa sacked Andriy Shevchenko this week and have moved to buy Blessin out of his contract.

KVO released a statement confirming they had reached an agreement with Genoa to release Blessin, with the Serie A side paying a release clause.

He is replaced on the Oostende bench by assistant Markus Plfanz until a new coach can be found.

Genoa's new American owners 777 sacked Davide Ballardini in November, then fired Andriy Shevchenko less than two months later.

German Blessin, 48, has signed a deal to 2024.
