Genoa are chasing Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacio.
"Palacio is our target. My son is own his way to Buenos Aires to sign him," revealed Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.
The 27-year-old could join the Grifoni for £4m but the Rossoblu and the departure of Matteo Ferrari has given the Liguri yet more cash to invest on the market.
"I am sad about Ferrari's departure, although I was more disappointed to let (Diego) Milito go," said Preziosi.
"We couldn't offer him all that money so he did well to choose Besiktas."
