Former PSV Eindhoven attacker Gaston Pereiro admits he chose Cagliari over Premier League interest.

Pereiro, before signing for the Sardinians, had revealed talks with Aston Villa.

And he said at his presentation yesterday, "I spoke with my agent who he told me about Cagliari's interest, as well as other English teams.

"But as I said to the president and Andrea Cossu, I chose Cagliari.

"How did Cossu convince me to sign? He told me that Cagliari is a very beautiful city and that I would be joining a strong team, I hope to adapt to this team as soon as possible."
