Garbutt ready to step in to Everton first team - Martinez

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has stated that youngster Luke Garbutt is ready for regular first team football.

Garbutt has been handed an opportunity to start for the final two matches of the season due to an injury sustained by regular left-back Leighton Baines and manager Martinez has backed the young man to fill in without any problems.

"We will assess it," said Martinez of the Baines injury. "It was quite painful and I don't think we could take any risks.

"But Luke Garbutt is ready if that's the case.

"It's a shame that Bryian Oviedo is not fit because the way he has been fighting all season it would have been a great way for him to end the season playing. But Luke Garbutt is ready."
