Garber: Florida becoming a priority for MLS

MLS chief Don Garber has revealed that the competition has started looking at the possibility of a Florida franchise even closer recently.

North America's domestic league is still seeking a city for the 20th license, with New York heavily backed to be added, but Garber has indicated that perhaps USL Pro outfit Orlando City has a very good chance of joining the MLS ranks in the near future.

"We are more focused in Florida than we've ever been in the past," Garber said.

"The numbers of youth players from that part of the country - there's 70-80 million people in that part of the country - we don't have any representation [further south] than DC.

"Florida's become a bit more of a priority."
