After victory in the Trofeo Berlusconi, AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani declared confidence in new signings Thiago Silva and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
"I think that after watching that game, people have understood that Thiago Silva is an outstanding player and so we have therefore replaced Paolo Maldini with a champion," Galliani purred.
It was a different game for Huntelaar though, the Dutch striker who was recently signed from Real Madrid for £12.5m.
"We have brought in Huntelaar who we believe will score a lot of goals for us," said Galliani despite the new boy's shy display.
"He's only had one training session with us as he was away on international duty with Holland. He's not disoriented or lost, it is all down to his limited time with us."
