AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they're likely to seek a striker loan signing in January.
Milan need cover with Antonio Cassano out for six months due to his heart operation.
Reports over the last few days have linked Catania ace Maxi Lopez, while Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero has also been mentioned.
"Del Piero? Let's not joke around," Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani stated on Monday.
"As for Lopez, he is a player who would be good enough for Milan, but there are a lot of players who would be suitable for us.
"I've read the Lopez stories, but there are various options available to us. Let us wait and see how Cassano is first.
"If we do bring in someone then it will probably be a loan deal with an option to buy clause at the end of the season."
