AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out of reach.
Galliani is a fan of Ibra and confirmed that a deal had been struck when the forward left Juventus in 2006, but that he veered off to rivals Inter at the last minute.
He said: "President Silvio Berlusconi is aiming high, absolutely. If we are to sign anyone, then it will be a world class player. We're ready to invest in a big name.
"However, Ibrahimovic's wage demands make it impossible for him to come to any Italian club. Don't forget Real Madrid and Barcelona make twice as much income as Serie A sides."
