AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they were also keen on AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

Galliani was speaking before tonight's big game.

"We had also followed Strootman for some time, then we focused elsewhere," explained Galliani.

"He had a high cost, but was always liked by this club."
