Eugene Galekovic is impressed with Adelaide United's potential signing Lloyd Owusu.

The Cheltenham Town striker has been in Adelaide for the past week or so and is expected to be unveiled as the Reds new signing next week.

Goalkeeper Galekovic said Owusu was great to have around.

"He's a great target man," Galekovic said.

"He's a great man to have around the dressing room, he's typically from an English side.

"He talks a lot and probably one of the blokes we need in the changeroom.

"I mean, we lost Jonas (Salley) and Diego, they were great characters."
