The Australian national team has lost captain Lucas Neill for Saturday's international friendly against Paraguay in Sydney.

The Galatasaray defender has had to withdraw because of a groin injury which he picked up playing for his club in the Turkish Super Lig loss to Karabukspor on Friday.

The former West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers skipper had to be subbed off at half-time of the match and will not travel to Australia for the visit of the World Cup quarter-finalists.
