Galatasaray have announced they're in talks to sign Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Gala confirmed the news last night.

"Galatasaray officially announce that negotiations have begun for Wesley Sneijder with FC Internazionale," read the statement.

"Meetings have begun for the transfer of the player. The media will be informed of developments."

The Turkish side had already hinted at their interest when President Unal Aysal met with Inter patron Massimo Moratti this afternoon.

"We talked about many things," he told reporters. "From youth policy to the possibility of establishing a partnership between the two clubs.

"And we talked about Sneijder, of course.

"I instructed my team to sit down and try to negotiate, but I think everything will be clearer in the next few days."
