Galatasaray close in on Arsenal midfielder Flamini

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sell out-of-favour defensive midfielder Mathieu Flamini to Galatasaray, according to reports in Turkey.

The Frenchman found himself on the fringes of the squad last season after the emergence of Francis Coquelin and will move further down the pecking order after the return of captain Mikel Arteta from injury.

31-year-old Flamini's last league start in a Gunners shirt came back in December and he has only one year left on his contract.

Turkish newspapers AmkSpor and MedyaHaber have both reported that Galatasaray have agreed a €4million fee for the midfielder.

The deal is expected to be completed within next week.
