Galatasaray attacker Lukas Podolski has revealed he could've been another ex-Arsenal star to join Manchester City.

The former Germany international admits he held talks with City back in 2009, but in the end chose to return to FC Koln.

Podolski told Express: "I had at that time in addition to the FC other offers from England. With Manchester City, there was already a meeting.

"But I wanted to return to FC, to the fans, to South Bend.

"I might have for many years played in the Champions League, but it was s*** at that moment."
