North Queensland Fury boss Ian Ferguson has confirmed interest in FC Basle winger Scott Chipperfield as a potential marquee signing. "I think Chipperfield has been mentioned a few times and he's definitely a player any elite club would want but I really can't make any comment," Ferguson told the Townsville Bulletin.

"It has been mentioned two or three times also that he has been linked to the Gold Coast.

"We won't mention any names until we get them over the line and get the deal done."

Fury are expected to announce several foreign signings during this month's transfer window.

"We're trying to get one or two players over the line and then I'm going to take the foot off the pedal," added Rangers legend Ferguson.

"I'm really happy with the quality of players coming.

"Once we've achieved getting two over the line I will be really happy and then we look at under-21 spots and then State League players."
