Demba Ba is ready to leave Newcastle United over his contract row.

The Sunday Mirror says Newcastle are not ­prepared to give in to the player's wage demands, ­believed to ­demand parity with Fabricio Coloccini's £60,000 a week.

Ba, who scored twice ­yesterday, wants another £10,000 a week and, unless the player's representatives back down, a parting of the ways seems ­inevitable.
