Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy admits he's hoping former club Liverpool can do him a favour for their next Premiership game.
"But at the end of the day, we have to stop worrying about other teams and worry about ourselves. Our performance has to be at this level if we are to give ourselves a chance. We ideally have to win three of our last four or at least two wins and two draws.
"As I say, we have to look forward to the Liverpool match and play with confidence. You can talk about hard-luck stories until you are blue in the face. But the fact is we feel we have enough quality to stay in this division.
"It is only one win and we've been there before when we've won and then not won for a while. We did not manage to put back-to-back wins together at any stage last season and hopefully we can do that this time. We are pleased with this performance and that should give us some confidence. Yet we are realistic as it is still a massive challenge for us. We are still playing catch-up and need to pick up points now.
"We are under pressure and have put ourselves in this position. It is a big challenge. This win gives us a chance but it is only one win. We have to keep improving."
Simon Davies, who set up both goals, added: "It was a shame we couldn't beat Derby or Sunderland. Liverpool is now a massive game.
"When we played them last year, they sent a weakened team and we beat them. It was a result which helped us stay up. If we can play like we did today, we have a chance and hopefully we can do it."
