Fulham are launching a late bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.
The People says Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson is desperate to sign a striker after Andy Johnson was ruled out for two months with a dislocated collarbone - and Chamakh is top of his wishlist.
A proposed swap deal, involving Fulham's Diomansy Kamara, could be revived - although Bordeaux were unable to meet the £2million-rated Senegalese striker's wage demands in a previous attempt to strike a deal.
