Fulham are set to make a move for Portsmouth goalkeeper David James as Arsenal up the ante in their pursuit of Mark Schwarzer.
Reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is keen to chase the Australian hard so Cottagres boss Roy Hodgson is planning a replacement with England number one James leading the way.
Tottenham are also believed to be interested in James but Fulham will chase harder as they see a one-year deal for the veteran as a good way to have a quality keeper under their stringent budget.
