Brede Hangeland was left to rue Fulham's 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage today.
The Norwegian centre-half was named the Sky Sports Man of the Match but was gutted from a team perspective as the Cottagers wasted plenty of chances as they failed to notch up their first win of the new season.
"I'm extremely disappointed. I thought we dominated that match today completely and should have won it easily. We lacked a little bit of skill and a little bit of luck," he told Sky Sports.
When asked if he felt the Fulham side lacked some confidence in front of the home fans, Hangeland said that was not the case whilst also deflecting the fact that the Cottagers fielded their summer signing Bryan Ruiz who looked uncomfortable in his English football debut.
"I'm not sure about that, I think we are confident here (at Craven Cottage) and we've had a lot of great results over the years but for some reason it just didn't work for us today but we will pick ourselves up for next time," he added.
"That's always the case (with new players) but it's the same for every club and it takes a while for new players to settle but we should've gone better and we should've won that game."
Hangeland also said it was way too early in the new campaign to be looking at table positions even though Fulham are sitting in the relegation zone in 18th.
"It's too early in the season to start looking at the table. I think after 10 or 15 games we can do that and hopefully we are not where we are now," he concluded.
