Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira was left in tears after he received a call from ex-teammate David Luiz.

The former Manchester United midfielder was teammates with Luiz at Flamengo in Brazil.

Both were in the team that lost the 2021 Copa Libertadores final to Palmeiras in difficult circumstances.

Pereira is now at Fulham, while Luiz is still with Flamengo. Fla won the Copa Libertadores on Saturday.

The two shared a video call recently, with Luiz sharing a screenshot of the call of a tearful Pereira on Instagram.

"You are a champion brother, we love you," he wrote in the accompanying caption after paying tribute to his former teammate for helping them return to the competition last season.

After the final, Pereira wrote on social media: "Very proud to be part of this team. Until my last minute I gave life for these colors!"
