Fulham moved to the summit of Europa League Group E after a narrow 1-0 win over Basel at Craven Cottage. The result ended a sequence of three successive losses for the Cottagers. Danny Murphy's second-half goal proved decisive against Swiss opposition who pushed Fulham all the way. The visitor's had good chances either side half time as Benjamin Huggel and Marco Streller fired over from close range. And Mark Schwarzer's diving save denied Mark Chipperfield in the final minute.
The final whistle came as a relief to Roy Hodgson's men who had to endure a nervy last ten minutes from a resurgent Basel team.
