Fulham have confirmed the sacking of manager Felix Magath.
The southwest London club have been forced to take action following a horror beginning to the Championship season which sees them sitting on the very bottom of the table with just one draw from seven outings.
Former Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Schalke boss Magath took the reins at Craven Cottage in February 2014, replacing Rene Meulensteen, but has been dumped just seven months later.
In a statement on Fulham's official website, club owner Shahid Khan said: "This is an unfortunate but necessary change. I am doing what I feel is right and needed for Fulham football club, for today as well as tomorrow.
"I thank our supporters for standing by us during these most difficult of times on the pitch, and promise better days ahead."
Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have also confirmed that Kit Symons will take over as caretaker manager.
The Cottagers, who lost 5-3 at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, next meet 13th-placed Blackburn Rovers at home on Saturday.
