Fulham boss Martin Jol is considering competing with Everton for Thomas Hitzlsperger.

The Daily Mail says Jol is keen to reinforce his midfield after the loss of Mousa Dembele, Clint Dempsey, Danny Murphy and Dickson Etuhu since the end of last season and then losing Mahamadou Diarra to a suspected cruciate knee ligament injury at the start of this month.

Options for Jol might include Owen Hargreaves and Hizlsperger, who are both out of employment, having been released by Manchester City and VfL Wolfsburg respectively.
