Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez is delighted with the form of midfielder Simon Davies this season.

He told fulhamfc.com: "Simon is a fantastic pro - he's one who when you name you team, will give you and eight out of ten performances week-in week-out. On his good days he gets a nine out of ten and on his bad days it's a seven. He's always up there at that level of performance.

"Sometimes those players get lost in the system because they get overtaken by players who are brilliant one week and not playing the following week. He's added goals to his game - that was his fourth goal since I've been here. He gives us good quality set plays, as he showed against Sunderland last week.

"He's one of those players you need in your team, players who are going to do it every week. Then you bolt on the one or two who are going to be sparkling one week and the next week you don't know what they're going to give you. I'm please that he's now getting recognition about how important he is to the team."
