Fulham manager Martin Jol has maintained a positive outlook on the chance of Brede Hangeland staying at the club.
The 31-year old Norwegian centre-back is out of contract in the summer but Jol suggests a new deal could be struck prior to the end of the season as talks continue.
"We are talking to quite a few players (about new deals)," the Cottagers boss told reporters.
"He (Hangeland) is one of them. It's about him but we are talking so it's a positive thing and he wants to stay here. That's good.
"So there is no news now but hopefully in the next couple of weeks."
