Fulham boss Martin Jol has told Steve Sidwell he wants him to stay.
Jol has spoken with the former Gunners man about extending his stay at Craven Cottage with his contract running out in 2014.
He said: "We want him to stay. I always like it when players, even if they are not playing, stay positive.
"After Mousa Dembele left, I needed him.
"He was probably the only player I had from the season before.
"He's a character and wants to train extra for the next game."
