Fulham boss Martin Jol wants to do early business in the winter transfer window.

Jol admits he is hoping to avoid a repeat of the last transfer window which saw Clint Dempsey and Mousa Dembele depart in the final few days, leaving him with a race against time to bring in replacements.

"That would be fantastic because then you can strengthen your squad," he told the Fulham Chronicle.

"If you don't know what will happen three days before the end of the transfer window then you've got a problem like we had.

"But nothing is what it seems because after that we've been doing better than before."
