Fulham boss Martin Jol is doing all he can to secure Brede Hangeland to a new contract.
With the winter market shut, Jol will now turn his attention to trying to persuade the towering defender to commit his future to Craven Cottage.
When asked if securing Hangeland was a priority, the Dutchman replied: "Yes. I always knew he was staying here because there was never a situation that we wanted to sell him.
"There was no clause in his contract like [Chris] Samba. The only thing is at the end of the year he will be free."
