Fulham boss Roy Hodgson defended Bobby Zamora furious goal celebration for their win over Sunderland.

Furious Zamora yelled: "Shut your f****** mouths" at Fulham supporters after scoring the only goal of the game to beat Sunderland at Craven Cottage yesterday.

Hodgson said: "That celebration was the result of not scoring as many goals as he would have liked.

"Maybe Bobby reads too many of these blogs that people write in to our website.

"Our fans at Craven Cottage constantly chant his name, but these people who write in on the internet are the real experts.

"They are the people who want something that Bobby has not been able to deliver... and that's 30 goals a season.

"But Bobby Zamora has been a key player for us and Sunderland's centre-backs certainly know they have been in a game today."
