Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley is a £2 million target for Fulham boss Roy Hodgson.

The Sunday Mirror says the Cottagers chief is worried about a lack of cover at full-back and wants the Black Cats star to bolster his squad.

Hodgson is determined to keep Fulham in with a shout for a top six finish as well as competing in the Europa League.

And he needs a stronger squad to fight on both fronts.
