Aston Villa are swooping for want-away Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.

Despite being a target for Liverpool and Sunderland, it's emerged Villa have met Fulham's asking price for the USA international.

The news could spark other clubs to move for Dempsey with Fulham ready to sell the player before the transfer window closes later on Friday.
