Frosinone chief Angelozzi details pulling off Reinier transfer coup: Ancelotti key

Frosinone sports chief Guido Angelozzi has detailed their swoop for Real Madrid attacker Reinier Jesus.

Reinier has joined the Serie A minnows on a season-long loan.

Angelozzi said: "We receive many reports and we received this one... I saw him and I knew he is good, but you know he's with Real Madrid... I met (Ariedo) Braida in Milan and asked him to speak to (Carlo) Ancelotti for some information.

"Carlo had spoken very well of him, let's also consider that he was still very young in 2002. He told us that he was on the market and that he would talk to the club. He is a non-EU citizen, the following week we met again in Milan also with Oscar Damiani and he warned us that he was leaving.

"In my head at that moment I couldn't take him because I had the intention of taking the defender Sazonov, a Russian nationalized Georgian. Luckily he has the same agent as Kaio (Jorge), they talked and he also convinced him to come. We usually visit Rome but there was no time and we did it in Milan. The transfer will arrive on Wednesday for him to play."
