French pundit Daniel Riolo believes Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is a problem for Real Madrid rival Karim Benzema over his hopes of returning to the France squad.
France coach Didier Deschamps has made it clear Benzema is not in his plans, despite his form at club level. But Riolo insists tension with Giroud is also a problem.
He explained on RMC: "It's not just a story between Deschamps and Benzema. Behind, we'll have to talk to Giroud because between Giroud and Benzema, it's deeper than we say.
"They can each say on their own that there is no confusion, given what they have got into with the history of karting, in which Giroud replied with not very nice things either, there were exchanges so that means that you are not going to reconcile them.
"By wanting to provide a solution which is the quality of the game, you will also break the human relations of a group which is world champion. Giroud has a lot of very close friends within the team. We know how it goes in these cases, if you get confused with a guy, his friends follow him. So all those who are friends with Giroud will not see the return of Benzema favorably. You risk creating cracks."
