French government sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera has taken aim at Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

Oudea-Castera has taken issue with the Argentina goalkeeper's open mocking of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe during World Cup celebrations in Argentina.

The government official said: "I do not rule out discussing the events with my Argentine counterpart.

"I find all this rather pitiful..."

Along with Martinez's antics, a group of Argentine fans have also been seen burning a sign that had Mbappé's head on top of a cross.
