France coach Didier Deschamps has paid a glowing tribute to Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann joins up with the France squad today in arguably the best form of his career.
Deschamps said, "It's wonderful for a team to have him, he's a great example. I've accompanied him over the years, in the matches, in the competitions. A human relationship and trust has been created.
"I know what I owe him, what he has done on the pitch for this team. No one is irreplaceable, but you can make sure you are indispensable and over the years he has done that a little."
Deschamps also returned to the 2018 Ballon d'Or: "He could have won it with the season he lived and the title of world champion. He would have deserved it.
"He doesn't get the recognition he deserves. From the moment he has confidence, he is radiant and shining. He also has this ability to convey, what he is, what he represents. He's a driving force. He's someone who always has a smile.
"On a human level, he's very endearing. In case you don't know, you're still kind of my favourite, Antoine."
