France manager Didier Deschamps has called up Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby for World Cup qualifiers early next month.
Les Bleus take on Finland and Belarus at the start of September and Deschamps is hoping the injury-prone Diaby can have a positive influence after returning to the fold at club level.
"Diaby has enormous potential. He had a disastrous season last year, but he has done a full pre-season and has played 90 minutes," Deschamps said.
"He is a very fragile player but he seems to be on the right track and I hope that nothing will hold him back now."
Diaby is joined by Gunners teammates Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny as well as fellow Premier League stars Gael Clichy, Patrice Evra and Yohan Cabaye, in the France squad.
