Marquee signing Robbie Fowler will join the North Queensland Fury camp this weekend.

The former Liverpool star is expected in Townsville on Sunday to accustom himself with conditions prior to the commencement of pre-season training on April 1.

"We had extensive medical tests done on Robbie prior to his signing and he'll start training with the rest of the squad on April 1," Fury coach Ian Ferguson said.

"Because of the heat and humidity we will ease him into the physical work with three days a week for the first month."
