Former West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has joined US lower division outfit Sacramento Republic.
Cole was released by Celtic this summer following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as the new manager and the striker will now be playing his football in an interesting destination.
It has been confirmed that Cole has signed for third division USL side Sacramento Republic and upon his arrival, manager Paul Buckle praised the addition of the 32-year-old ex-Chelsea, Aston Villa and England forward.
"Cole needs no introduction," said Buckle.
"In terms in what he has does in the game, he has played at the highest level throughout his career and it shows he is a top player and very good professional.
"When he became available, we realised the good he can bring, his invaluable experience and that he can score goals."
