Former West Brom defender Moore thrilled with summer additions

West Bromwich Albion's summer business has been praised by former defender Darren Moore.

The Baggies brought in Morgan Amalfitano on a season-long from Marseille, Scott Sinclair on a similar deal from Manchester City, as well as French striker Nicolas Anelka on a free and Lee Camp to cover injured goalkeeper Ben Foster before a busy deadline day.

Monday saw Albion sign playmaker Stephane Sessegnon from Sunderland and powerful striker Victor Anichebe from Everton and Moore feels like manager Steve Clarke now has a talented squad with a fair amount of depth.

"I think it's great business," Moore, who played for the Baggies between 2001 and 2006, told Sky Sports News Radio.

"The club wants to keep moving forward after last season and I think the players that have come in will enhance the squad.

"The last couple of results have shown that they need more depth, and they've brought in some real good quality.

"It's a great squad of players anyway. I had the joy of watching them last season and they're a great bunch. Nicolas (Anelka) coming in, Scott (Sinclair) coming in and Sessegnon coming in will add the quality and flair that's needed.

"I think they'll gel together, I think they'll bring great cohesion, and looking forward I see the team progressing and moving back up the league this season."
