Former Tottenham and Man Utd forward Berbatov considers retirement

Former Tottenham and Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov is thinking about calling time on his career, reports BBC Sport.

The former Bulgaria skipper has been out of the game since leaving PAOK Salonika at the end of last season.

He had been hopeful of making a return and had spoken about his desire to play in the Premier League again.

However, two transfer windows have now closed and the 36-year-old is still to get fixed up.

As a free agent, he could sign for anyone at any point and Chinese Super League clubs and Major League Soccer are still putting their squads together.

However, it is understood Berbatov is thinking seriously about whether he wants to put his body through the rigours of another professional campaign.
