Blaise Nkufo has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 35-year old Congo-born Swiss international recently departed MLS club Seattle Sounders after making just 13 appearances during his short stay.
The Sounders former Designated Player has decided to end his playing career with reports suggesting he is set to take up a scouting position with Dutch club FC Twente Enschede who he played with for seven seasons, scoring over 100 goals.
Nkufo kicked off his career with Stade Lausanne in Switzerland back in 1992 and since then has enjoyed stints with Qatari club Al-Arabi, Swiss clubs Yverdon, Lugano, Grasshoppers, Luzern and German clubs Mainz and Hannover. He represented the Swiss on 34 occasions and scored seven international goals.
