Former Real Madrid captain Hierro: Ramos must stay - buy both Mbappe and Haaland

Former Real Madrid captain Fernando Hierro says they must keep hold of Sergio Ramos.

Ramos' current deal runs until June and although many rumours have circulated from time to time, no final decision has been taken regarding his future.

"I would like Sergio Ramos to continue and retire at Real Madrid," Hierro told Radio MARCA.

"But not because of the time he has been there, but because of his performances.

"He is showing that he is still the best in the world. When there is will, people understand each other.

"There are times when the economic situation is not the most important thing and you have to assess where you want to be."

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have been linked with a move to Real Madrid in summer and Hierro believes that Los Blancos should sign both.

"If I were Real Madrid, I would sign Haaland and Mbappe," Hierro added.

Meanwhile, Hierro has indicated that Eden Hazard, who has recently suffered another injury setback, is among the best players in European football.

"Hazard seems to me a great player, one of the top ten in the world," continued Hierro.

"Maybe during his recovery process, it would be good to put everything in a little order."
