Former Rangers trainee Jazz Jutla is excited by his old club's move into the Indian transfer market.

Now 34-year-old Juttla, who works as a policeman, would love to see Rangers trialists Jeje Lalpekhlua and Sunil Chhetri grab their big opportunity.

Juttla believes if boss Ally McCoist decides to sign the I-League pair it could benefit the club on and off the pitch.

He told the Daily Record: "It would be great if Rangers signed the two guys. And from the multi-cultural side of things, it would be terrific for Scotland as a whole.

"They must have something about them to be playing in the I-League and the Indian national side. If they show up well on trial at Murray Park, why not sign them?

"It's not before time the Old Firm looked into this market. As long as they're good enough and they can enhance the team, it's worth it.

"Everything else that comes with it commercially is a bonus. Football is pretty big in India, they are catching up with the rest of the world.

"In the current climate, money is at a premium at Rangers. So it makes sense for them to give the young players a chance and look to widen their horizons by checking on markets like Asia and America.

"They don't have anything to lose and everything to gain. Look at Ki and Emilio Izaguirre at Celtic. Just by being here they've created huge interest in South Korea and Honduras.

"We look at places like that as developing countries but there are so many people interested in football there. From a business point of view, there's money to be made from selling shirts and merchandise.

"And there are good footballers there. Their market is beginning to be tapped and fair play to director of football Gordon Smith for realising that."
