Former Rangers favourite appointed manager

Stuart McCall has been appointed Rangers manager until the end of the season, BBC Scotland has learned. It is unknown yet if he will retain current caretaker manager Kenny McDowall on the coaching staff, or bring an assistant in with him.

Now a manager, McCall is a free agent having left Motherwell in November, and has long been connected with the Rangers job since Ally McCoist's departure.
