Former QPR boss Hughes favourite for Blackburn vacancy

Mark Hughes has emerged as the bookies' favourite to become the next Blackburn Rovers boss after Henning Berg was sacked Thursday morning. Berg was relieved of his duties by the Rovers board after just 10 matches and 57 days in charge of the Championship club.

Former boss Hughes was immediately installed as favourite along with former Aston Villa coach Kevin McDonald who was linked with a coaching role at Ewood Park only last week.

Hughes, who was sacked by QPR in November, enjoyed great success in a four-year spell at Ewood Park leading the club to a top six finish in the Premier League in 2006.
