Chicago Fire striker Brian McBride is in doubt of missing the rest of the MLS season after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
The former Fulham star has been affected by the injury since the start of the season but it became too much and he required surgery to fix the problem.
He is expected to miss three to four months.
"It is something he has had since the beginning of the year," Fire coach Denis Hamlett told MLSnet.com.
"He has been a warrior and has been fighting through it."
