Former England keeper wants to extend Sheff Utd deal

Sheffield United keeper Richard Wright wants to remain at Bramall Lane after his contract with the Blades ends in May. Wright, who has won two full international caps for England, is under contract with the struggling English Championship club until the end of then campaign.

The 33-year-old has made just two starts for United since arriving at the club in September.

"I really enjoy this football club," Wright said. "I want to be playing. I am fed up of saying what I want to do. I've got to start playing games. It is as simple as that.

"I want to play my part in this team. It is no good talking about it; I have got to let my actions do my talking."

Wright recently rejoined training after recovering from his thigh knock and the stopper is keen to take any opportunity that comes his way.

"I'm going to keep my head down, work hard and hopefully my chance will come," Wright added.
